Presidential Airways 1985-1989

Founded on March 20, 1985, by former People Express President and industry veteran Harold J. (Hap) Paretti, Presidential Airways would operate out of its home base  at  Dulles Airport in Virginia for the next 5 years.

Presidential Airways was Initially a great  At it's peak it operated over 295
weekly non-stop flights out of Dulles airport, daily utilizing a  fleet of  13 B737-200, 9 BAe-146s, twelve BAe Jetstream 31s and 32s and two early model BE-1900

The Presidential namesake would eventually fold in 1987 under intense competitive pressures that Continental, New York Air and United Airlines brought to Dulles.  Presidential Airways limped along for another two years as a feeder carrier for Continental and United, before finally going out of business in 1989.
